While browsing a catalog for Christmas gifts, I came across the Squirrel Boss Bird Feeder. I haven't yet decided who I'm going to give it to. Apparently it is "the unique brainchild of an aerospace professional" who loves both birds and squirrels and wanted a safe and effective way to keep squirrels off the bird feeder. It "electronically conditions" the squirrels. A remote control allows you to deliver a static shock to the squirrel "from the comfort of your home."
If Moo-moo were still alive, I think it would be the perfect gift for her. I can picture her sitting at the dining room table, watching the bird feeder from the window, and electrocuting squirrels. Humanely, of course.

So glad that I can lay down my BB gun and control my pesky squirrel problem in a more humane way...do you think that there might be an attachment for keeping shelter-seeking homeless freaks out of the abandoned house next door? I know that they just want a roof over their heads during the cold winter nights, but I'd like to humanely teach them that the abandoned house next to mine isn't an appropriate place in which to lay their filthy heads...maybe I'll write to that esteemed aerospace engineer...
You're right, Moo would have loved a squirrel boss.
Personally, I'd love a "Cat Boss" that gave appropriate (read: lethal) shocks to feline creatures that ventured into Millerama.
